Another day, another review. Today, it’s Sundial by Decadent Vapours. Once again, I can’t help but be impressed by their packaging, the bottle itself is squirreled away in a rather attractive cardboard sleeve, child proof bottle is always a plus. However, I did notice that the combination of colours used made reading the text on the label a bit of a bother.
Once the cap had been removed, I gave it the customary curious sniff. Sundial greets you with an oddly oat-like bottle note and lashings of fruitiness, making it a fresh scent to enjoy.
Unfortunately, that’s where it starts to fall flat, the first few puffs of this liquid were particularly bland, the promised berries and cereals were nowhere to be found. All it presented off the bat was a rather bland, almost smoky taste.
As I progressed down the tank, it didn’t change, instead retaining its almost offense blandness. It got to the point that I had to put it down for fear of making me feel sick. I had even left the liquid to steep for a week, giving it a chance to settle and the flavours to infuse. Even after giving it a good shake to ensure everything had thoroughly mixed and loading up the tank to give this a second chance it hadn’t improved. It was bland.
It’s unfortunately, the flavour profile set out by the manufacturer made this liquid sound divine, however, in comparison to other liquids that boast the same flavour (See Horror of Yig big Grimm Kvlt) this liquid just fails to stand up to task.
