“Devon’s Heaven” by Hodge’s Homebrew

One of the most popular flavours on the Vaper’s menu.

Hodge’s Homebrew describe their Devon’s Heaven custard as:

This vanilla based custard comes from the heart of Devon itself. It is created by our juice makers who hold this recipe close to their heart and some say the West Country only knows how they make it so creamy.

Devon's Heaven

Liquid Info:

  • 30ml Bottle
  • 70/30 VG-PG Ratio
  • 3mg Nicotine
  • Born on 07/7/15

Review Hardware:

  • Custom Hammond box mod @60w
  • Tugboat RDA w/0.2Ω coils
  • Innokin Cool Fire IV @40w
  • Aspire Atlantis V2 Tank w/0.3Ω coil
  • Joeytech Delta II Tank w/0.5Ω coil

Normally when it comes to VG-heavy liquids, we prefer to test on Dripper based atomizers to preserve our coils, but for the sake of a full review we went ahead and tried this liquid out in a variety of atomizers. Our expectations are high, due to the large volume of brands available when it comes to custard flavoured liquids.

Our previous experiences with custard liquids have incurred strong chemical – and in some cases, even a plastic – tastes, but this is not the case with Devon’s Heaven. To really appreciate the full flavour of this, airflow must be quite low for the full potential to be released. In my experience, the Tugboat RDA was the perfect combination for this 70/30 blend – I was definitely not disappointed. The inhale is delicately creamy and succulent, whilst the exhale released the full flavour of the unmistakeable Devon custard.

Recently, we acquired a Delta II Tank w/rebuildable deck for testing purposes (plus, it’s always fun to wrap some coils) so we threw some of the liquid in for a quick vape. We opened the adjustable juice channel on the coil all the way, owing to the 70/30 blend. The inhale on this was extremely smooth, and again, a rich and full flavour is released on the exhale.

I wouldn’t call this an all day vape, but it’s  a very enjoyable dessert vape!

The Drifter Vintage E-Liquid Review

Manufacturer’s Description: “The Drifter is a blissful mix of succulent tangerines, delicious custard, velvety cream, and a hint of calming vanilla. It’s fruity and savoury flavour will take you on a journey you will never forget.”

The Drifter by Vintage E-Liquids, Available in 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12 and 18mg strengths, 15ml bottle, 40%PG/60%VG

Vaping Specs:

First things first, working from the outside in is a common troubleshooting methodology in IT and I shall apply it here. The packaging of Vintage e-liquid’s line of liquids is simply inspired, quirky and different, the Zippo styled casing for the bottle is a wonderful idea, even down to the little spring to keep the lid open while you fill your chosen tank.

Smelling the bottle, you are greeted with a fresh, warm scent, light notes of tangerine and vanilla peak through, although there is a plastic-y smells coming from the bottle its self.
The initial taste is a warm, caramel sort of sweetness, although as you progress, the flavours start to open up, a silken creamy taste with slight vanilla notes on the retrohale. The tangerine is a very subtle touch to the entire experience.

Overall, The Drifter is warm, sweet with the custard, tangerines, vanilla and cream being very subtle touches which lends itself to making this an enjoyable vape, seeming to lend its self well to dripping and making it an easily recommendable flavour to try although the initial scent might turn some folk away, an easy 8/10 from me.
