“Pierced” by Counter Culture

Welcome back to another juice review by Foxy.

In this review we will be looking at “Pierced” by Counter Culture whose parent company is Baker White INC USA.

I have had the pleasure of reviewing the entire Counter Culture range over the past few weeks but this review is the last one from their line called “Pierced”.

The presentation of the bottle is typical of Counter Culture… By that what I mean is that their images used on their labels would make great tattoos if that is what your into I guess. The label is bright and all the writing stands out to you so as to not hide any warnings or facts about the contents. For the purposes of this review I will be using the IPV Mini 2 and the FreakShow Mini RDA with my typical 0.28Ω dual coil build and airflow fully opened.

Something that really must be addressed in this review is that on the topic on the use of Diacetyl… A lot of US juice brands use this chemical in their custard flavorings… However, not Baker White INC. They have went the extra mile and actually paid the huge sum of money to have each and every single one of their Counter Culture range tested individually and all the tests came back as “Diacetyl NOT DETECTED” and Pentanedione NOT DETECTED! For this fact alone it is worthy of a massive High 5 for ensuring the customers best interest remains at heart.

What can I say? When I open the bottle I am greeted with the nicest Raspberry smell and a hint of cream. I do love fruit flavours but I also love custard and cream flavours too for an all-day vape. I have fallen in love before I have even vaped a single drop.

On the inhale I got a sweet raspberry taste that really makes my taste buds cry for more! Raspberry is one of those flavours that’s really hard to get right as they normally taste too artificial and otherwise fake in some sense, but not “Pierced”, the Raspberry flavouring used is almost as if you have just bitten down on a freshly picked raspberry. As I hold the vapour in the raspberry seems to develop a little bit more with every passing second.

The exhale, I got a nice subtle cream flavour which reminds me somewhat of a vanilla ice cream that one would have whilst strolling along their favourite seaside walkway on a hot summers day. With that in mind the raspberry flavour that helps push forward the cream flavouring could be the blue raspberry sauce on the top of your ice cream.

Cloud production is once again out of this world as it is for all of the BW INC products that I have had the pleasure of trying. I know that this is a high VG mix but even with that in mind the flavourings would typically be made from PG thus reducing the vapour produced. But this is not the case for this juice as the cloud is just there!

Presentation: 8/10

Flavour: 10/10

Cloud production: 8/10

So will I buy more of this juice once my sample is done? I sure as hell will! As soon as it is available here in the UK I will be one of the first to be in line at my local vape shop to pick some up.

Overall I cannot fault ANY of the Counter Culture range at all!

“Dillinger” by Villain Vapors

Welcome to another E-Juice review by Foxy.

Today we will be looking at one of our newest juices given to us to review. This one is called Dillinger by Villain Vapors USA. I first came across Villain Vapors on Facebook under what I recall was a post in a vaping group with the company logo. The logo instantly grabbed my attention and not long afterwards my associate spoke to the owner of the company and arranged samples to be sent out to us for review.

Out of the whole range I was lucky enough to get Dillinger which I have actually heard of before within the vaping community. The bottle features the company logo which is designed around a Wild West outlaw wearing a bandana and hat with a somewhat anonymous look about it.

Their website is something I have to talk about here….. Some of the videos are extremely sexual lol I can’t really say anything other than that about it…… I think there is something to do with E-Juice on their site too but I didn’t really get time to look at it after I was watching the videos with the wife in the room.

For this review I will be using the iStick 100W with the Wotofo Atty³ Cubed running in single coil mode with half airflow open and wattage set to 45W.

Opening the bottle I am greeted with a delicious and unmistakable smell of vanilla custard which just happens to be my favourite all-day vape when using a dripper but on top of this I get a little smell of something else which may be caramel or brown sugar? Only time will tell when I have a vape.

On the inhale my suspicions are delightfully confirmed regarding the custard flavour, I take a huge lung hit and the flavour is just to die for! On holding the vapour in for a while I start to notice a delicate hint of cereal at the back of my nose.

The exhale the flavour totally changes for me to an almost custard and cream flavour which was a real surprise for me as I would not expect to have custard and cream mixed together in an E-Juice.

Flavour: 10/10
Cloud production: 8.5/10
Presentation: 8/10

So would I buy this juice once my review sample is finished? Yup! Dillinger really ticks all the boxes for me and before I summed this review up I added a touch of menthol to really see how the custard reacts with the menthol in this particular juice. I’m delighted to say that once again it’s perfect!

“Inked” by Counter Culture

Hello and welcome to another E-Juice review by Foxy.

In this review we will be looking at Counter Culture “Inked” by parent company Baker White INC.

As you can see here on the BV Bar site I have already reviewed a Counter Culture juice called “Fueled” which got a very positive review from myself. With that said I am now itching to get stuck in to the Inked flavour to see if it could possibly be anywhere near as good.

For this review I will be using the iStick 100W with the Troll RDA running my usual 0.28Ω dual coil build with airflow set to fully open and wattage at 68W.

Looking at the bottle of juice, I can see that it has the same style of imagery used in a liquid I previously reviewed. It has a bold and aggressive design that would also make a nice tattoo…

On opening the bottle I am pleasantly greeted with a subtle yet sweet smelling strawberry that almost creates a taste in its own right. There might be a hint of vanilla or cream mixed in with the strawberry too. But, there is only one way to find out and that’s to get it dripped and hoofed into me!

On the inhale I am getting what can only be described as the most mouth-watering blend of fresh strawberries which is just the right strength to drip. I tend to find that a lot of strawberry juices are somewhat artificial in their taste, almost like they are trying to be something else instead of just a strawberry. Only I know that this is not the case I would swear that the tip of my tongue tastes like I have just licked a freshly cut strawberry.

On the exhale yet more magic happens….. The Baker White INC website states that there is a vanilla custard mixed with the strawberries I tasted on the inhale but I actually find it to be more like a cream flavour on the exhale. This is certainly not a complaint at all. In fact it’s quite the opposite! I wish more juice manufacturers made a strawberry and cream combination. It’s a perfect blend for an all day long vape!

Something that really must be addressed in this review is that on the topic on the use of Diacetyl… A lot of US juice brands use this chemical in their custard flavourings… However, not Baker White INC.

Flavour: 10/10
Cloud production: 8/10
Presentation: 9/10

Instead of asking myself would I buy this juice once my sample is finished I should really be asking why the hell isn’t this juice available in the UK!

Inked has instantly became my ultimate favourite all day vape which is something I certainly did not expect to happen! FANTASTIC!

NB: I’ve now ran out of this juice lol. Before this review has even went live!

“Apple Pie and Custard” by SCVapes

image1

Manufacturer’s Description: ” Our Famous Apple Pie & Custard is delight for the taste buds! Fantastic taste of apple pie and custard without forgetting the tasty pie crust!.”

Statistics: Apple Pie and Custard by SCVape., Available in 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12 and 18mg strengths, Available in 10ml or 30ml bottles , 30%PG/70%VG. Steeped for two days as per manufacturer’s recommendations.

Vaping statistics: 0mg strength, vaped on a Kangertech Subtank Mini with Kanger RBA, 5 wrap Kanthal 0.75Ω coil mounted on the Kangertech Kbox mini @ 15 and 30 watts.

Opening the bottle is like walking into the kitchen while your grandmother is baking. You’re greeted with a warm, homely scent of well fired pastry, a mellow apple flavour and a sweet, vanilla scent off the custard top off the bottle note. Definitely pleasant.

The first few puffs are wonderful, warm apply taste, a slight sweetness to it. It’s smooth and enjoyable, the custard just filling the spaces between puffs with a rather enjoyable taste that lingers on the lips. On the retrohale, you’re teased with pastry and something that tastes almost like meringue.

Like most SCVapes flavours, the flavour doesn’t develop further form the first few tastes. While this is one of the more complex flavours SCVapes offers, all the nuances are presented on each puff and it remains pleasant and enjoyable without being too rich or sickly.

CiggyJuice.co.uk Juice Reviews

ciggyjuice_logoSo the guys at CiggyJuice.co.uk were kind enough to send us a few liquids for us to try out. Many thanks guys!! I asked them for a bit of background info about the company and this is what i got:

CiggyJuice is a UK Limited Company formed on the 19th November 2013

The company is owned & run by David & Sue who got together in May 2013

Sue, at the time was a smoker. Disappearing out into the back garden to smoke a roll up every now and then, coming back in smelling of an ashtray with breath to suit,  David who never smoked a cigarette in his life, was not!

David, who owns a production equipment company with contacts, agents and customers all around the globe managed to contact one of his agents in China and had shipped into the UK in a couple of E-Cigarettes and liquids for Sue to try. They very soon they realised that because of the nature of peoples nicotine and flavour requirements changes all the time that the E Liquids would need to be blended here in the UK to the customers needs.

The following months involved lots of research and testing to get the superb range they have today.

Today, every liquid you buy from them is made by them, they only sell their own E Liquid products.

What about Sue I hear you ask?

Well, apart from one roll up she had 3 weeks into her quest to give up she has never had another cigarette or roll up since.

Thanks to the guys for supplying me with this info.

Now to the liquids! We have a lot to review today so i’m gonna keep them short and sweet!

20150818_125204

These liquids can be got in whatever nicotine strength you want and also whatever ratio of pg/vg you want! Quite Handy I must say!

Fresh build in my Tugboat RDA at 0.3Ω on a istick 50w

Clear Bina 3mg Nicotine 70/30 VG/PG

Exactly what you think it is really! Smells like a freshly opened carton of Ribena! Nice thick juice as well as the rest of the bottles but we will get onto that shortly!

Vapes exceptionally well! Lovely sweet blackcurrant taste with a burst of flavour on the exhale.

A possible all day vape if blackcurrant’s your thing!

Clear Astaire V2 3mg Nicotine 70/30 VG/PG

Clear Astaire V2…..basically summer berries and menthol.

Great for lovers of menthol and thankfully menthol is my thing. I found it just a tad strong for my liking but the berries part is fantastic! Very refreshing and fills your mouth with the taste of summer! Sweet berries on the inhale and the crisp refreshing palate cleansing menthol on the exhale!

7/10

Mr White 3mg Nicotine 70/30 VG/PG

Think of Mr. White and what do you think of???? Thats right! Breaking Bad this liquid takes a twist on other Heisenbergs on the market. Its clear…..now now never let a colour put you off! This liquid is very special and bear in mind its not a complete clone of other juices out there.

I have tried other similar liquids before but this one beats them by a mile!

This one doesnt haven’t have as strong of a throat hit as others i’ve tried which is a plus for me! Just the soothing taste of mixed fruits with a hint of citrus all mixed together by the menthol that holds the whole package together. In my opinion the menthol could be dialled back just a touch to let the fruits come through just a little bit more! If you have tried Heisenbergs in the past and liked them well then get this liquid! You will NOT be disappointed!

9/10

Blueberry Custard 3mg Nicotine 70/30 VG/PG

Muhahahahahaha! Now we are into my kinda thing! Custards! Now i didnt want this one to disappoint and thank god it didnt!

Possibly the most addictive juice I have tried to date. An absolute sweetie pie. A sweet but fresh and ripe blueberry taste with the smooth creamyness you can expect from a lovely custard. Thoroughly recommended! Now i usually keep saying this but this is 100% truth….possibly the closest ive come to an all-day vape yet! – If you’re only going to try one juice from CiggyJuice.co.uk I would thoroughly recommend this. Its tame and polite enough that it can be vaped in pretty much any situation but with enough twist on flavours that it doesnt become boring!

A Solid 10/10

Fruit Salads 3mg Nicotine 70/30 VG/PG

Remember the little 1p sweets you used to get when you were younger? Well your a big boy/girl now and have possibly started vaping! This really is the closest you will get to the sweet in liquid form!

Words cannot express how surprised i was with this! Childhood memories came flooding back. I haven’t tried a fruit salad sweet in years so went out and bought some to compare tastes. Could i tell the difference? No….no i couldn’t Got the raspberry and pineapple flavour straight away. Tangy raspberry on the inhale with the sweetness of the pineapple on the exhale a vaping childhood sensation. If you like sweets then this is your thing!

9/10

Dragon Fruit 3mg Nicotine 70/30 VG/PG

I can’t really describe this flavour as i’ve never had a Dragon Fruit flavour before. But it was actually quite good! I just couldn’t put my finger on what flavours was mixing around in my mouth?

I find it has a mild sweet and nutty flavour and was actually quite enjoyable. Its like nothing i’ve ever had before though so i cant really give much opinion on its flavour. Has a slightly creamy aftertaste to it as well. I would definitely recommend mixing this with a strawberry flavour to bring out its best!

7/10

Lime Tic Tacs 3mg Nicotine 70/30 VG/PG

Now when this liquid was sent to me it was in prototype form and i was one of the first to try it. It has now been released on CiggyJuice’s website and i’m glad they have done so!

A lover of tangy limes?? Get this liquid!

First of all i got the sweetness of the tic tac just like the outside layer then all of a sudden bang, crash and wallop!  I got the tartness of the lime it near blew my bloody head off! I was like whoa this is good!! It reminded me of the inside of a lime tic tac and on the exhale i got a slight hint of menthol just like the real thing! Well thats maybe why they called this liquid lime tic tac??

Give this one a try if you get a chance!  Not my most favourite in the world but some people love these kinda flavours!

9/10

Well thats what the guys sent me over to review!

I really must thank CiggyJuice.co.uk for sending us these liquids to try out.

Why not give the site a visit and see what they got. They have a flavour to suit your every need!

“General Custard” By Generals Juices

General-Juices_thin_skinny_white

LISTEN UP, SOLDIER…

Before you undertake your mission to buy some of the best tasting e-liquid that money can buy, you need to know who you’re dealing with. The General and his staff are based in Sussex, UK. We are a hard-working bunch of e-juice crafters and mixers who believe that it is our duty to bring amazing e-liquid to the vaping community. Every single flavour has been tested, re-tested and then tested some more. After that, we do some more testing using titanium, magnets and other top secret military techniques… NASA, MI5 and the CIA have been trying to get hold of our recipes, but we are keeping them a closely guarded secret.

Generals Juices

This is straight from the General’s private supply. Creamy yumminess in a bottle.

Yes – it’s a vanilla custard flavour, but it’s been promoted to the next level by the General and his staff using military grade ingredients and hi-tec fusion bonding techniques. E-liquid never tasted so good!

That I have to agree on! But we will get to that shortly!!

Liquid Details:

  • 10ml Bottle
  • 70/30 VG-PG Ratio
  • 6mg Nicotine
  • Born on 13 June 2015

Test Hardware:

  • Aspire Atlantis V2 w/0.3Ω coil
  • eLeaf iStick 50w @ 50w

Now we have tried a lot of custard flavours over time and a lot of them have not wowed us but General Custard is really something special…..we tested this awesome liquid in a Atlantis V2 and my my were we surprised!

General’s custard is creamy and rich. Reminiscent of the type of custard in custard doughnuts for me. It’s by far and away my favourite custard juice at the moment! Hit is good. I find some creamy type juices to be too heavy on my chest, but this is just right. Thick vape, great flavour. Packaging is nice, simple and informative. Even tells us what date the juice was “Born On”, a nice touch!  In my opinion is that i would this juice steep for at least a week or so. I aimed to keep it at least a week and found it half gone by then… nom nom nom…

This could potentially be my new dessert vape!

“Captain’s Custard” by The Captain’s Reserve

Captains Reserve

Manufacturer’s Description: “A strong creamy custard base with lashings of rich caramel and a fruity kiss of banana will leave you longing for more. It took a team of our most persuasive sea dogs and several kegs of rum to get our Captain drunk enough to share his treasured recipe. Make the Captain’s your all day vape now and discover what all the fuss was about!”

Statistics: Captain’s Custard by The Captain’s Reserve., Available in 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12 and 18mg strengths, Available in 15ml bottle or 40ml Skull bottle, 50%PG/50%VG.

Vaping statistics: 0mg strength, vaped on a Kangertech Subtank Mini with Kanger RBA, 5 wrap Kanthal 0.6Ω coil mounted on the Kangertech Kbox mini @ 15 and 30 watts

Captains Custard

Opening the bottle greets you with very little besides soft scent of banana, in all honesty the bottle scent is a little unremarkable. Nothing to call home about.

Thankfully, in the tank the liquid fails to disappoint. At lower wattages you get a cool, custard akin to what you would find in a doughnut with an almost warm sweetness from the Caramel. At higher wattages it really opens up, a smooth banana layered deliciously on a home made custard sort of taste, the caramel just adding onto the flavour delightfully.

Towards the end of the tank, the flavour starts to definitely come into it’s own, a warm, smooth custard base, almost fresh tasting bananas draped with caramel, definitely one I could sit down and enjoy on a cold day after dinner.

Definitely one from the Captain’s Reserve line of liquids I could recommend.

“Grumpy Custard” by Grumpy Juice

web-logo

Manufacturer’s Description: ” A traditionally warm and creamy British Custard, complimented by a smooth vanilla touch. Grumpy’s favourite.”

Statistics:

Grumpy Custard by Grumpy Juice, Available in 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12 and 18mg strengths, Available in 10, 30 , 50 and 100ml bottles. Available in 50%PG/50%VG or 30%PG/70%VG

Vaping statistics:

0mg strength, 30%PG/70%VG, vaped on a Kangertech Subtank Mini with Kanger RBA, 5 wrap Kanthal 0.75Ω coil mounted on the Kangertech Kbox mini @ 15 and 30 watts

Again, I find myself losing track of where I was with this flavour, the beautifully warm and creamy custardy scent is divine, I thought I was in my grandmother’s kitchen for a moment. Vaping through a tank of Grumpy Custard is simply a delight in this vaper’s humble opinion. While I’m not much of a fan of custard flavours usually, this one certainly changed my thoughts on it. The first few puffs are just a beautifully warm, creamy taste, going through the tank the vanilla starts to reveal its without being too overpowering. The vanilla is just a beautiful aftertaste on the retrohale, it isn’t overpowering.

Towards the end of a tankful of this flavour, I couldn’t help but notice that its a very homemade tasting custard, this tastes more like what your granny would make from scratch, not what you could buy out of a tin.

Grumpy custard? Nothing grumpy about this flavour.

“Devon’s Heaven” by Hodge’s Homebrew

Custards!

One of the most popular flavours on the Vaper’s menu.

Hodge’s Homebrew describe their Devon’s Heaven custard as:

This vanilla based custard comes from the heart of Devon itself. It is created by our juice makers who hold this recipe close to their heart and some say the West Country only knows how they make it so creamy.

Devon's Heaven

Liquid Info:

  • 30ml Bottle
  • 70/30 VG-PG Ratio
  • 3mg Nicotine
  • Born on 07/7/15

Review Hardware:

  • Custom Hammond box mod @60w
  • Tugboat RDA w/0.2Ω coils
  • Innokin Cool Fire IV @40w
  • Aspire Atlantis V2 Tank w/0.3Ω coil
  • Joeytech Delta II Tank w/0.5Ω coil

Normally when it comes to VG-heavy liquids, we prefer to test on Dripper based atomizers to preserve our coils, but for the sake of a full review we went ahead and tried this liquid out in a variety of atomizers. Our expectations are high, due to the large volume of brands available when it comes to custard flavoured liquids.

Our previous experiences with custard liquids have incurred strong chemical – and in some cases, even a plastic – tastes, but this is not the case with Devon’s Heaven. To really appreciate the full flavour of this, airflow must be quite low for the full potential to be released. In my experience, the Tugboat RDA was the perfect combination for this 70/30 blend – I was definitely not disappointed. The inhale is delicately creamy and succulent, whilst the exhale released the full flavour of the unmistakeable Devon custard.

Recently, we acquired a Delta II Tank w/rebuildable deck for testing purposes (plus, it’s always fun to wrap some coils) so we threw some of the liquid in for a quick vape. We opened the adjustable juice channel on the coil all the way, owing to the 70/30 blend. The inhale on this was extremely smooth, and again, a rich and full flavour is released on the exhale.

I wouldn’t call this an all day vape, but it’s  a very enjoyable dessert vape!

The Drifter Vintage E-Liquid Review

11701519_10206610360725112_553548386_o

Manufacturer’s Description: “The Drifter is a blissful mix of succulent tangerines, delicious custard, velvety cream, and a hint of calming vanilla. It’s fruity and savoury flavour will take you on a journey you will never forget.”

Statistics:
The Drifter by Vintage E-Liquids, Available in 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12 and 18mg strengths, 15ml bottle, 40%PG/60%VG

Vaping Specs:

First things first, working from the outside in is a common troubleshooting methodology in IT and I shall apply it here. The packaging of Vintage e-liquid’s line of liquids is simply inspired, quirky and different, the Zippo styled casing for the bottle is a wonderful idea, even down to the little spring to keep the lid open while you fill your chosen tank.

Smelling the bottle, you are greeted with a fresh, warm scent, light notes of tangerine and vanilla peak through, although there is a plastic-y smells coming from the bottle its self.
The initial taste is a warm, caramel sort of sweetness, although as you progress, the flavours start to open up, a silken creamy taste with slight vanilla notes on the retrohale. The tangerine is a very subtle touch to the entire experience.

Overall, The Drifter is warm, sweet with the custard, tangerines, vanilla and cream being very subtle touches which lends itself to making this an enjoyable vape, seeming to lend its self well to dripping and making it an easily recommendable flavour to try although the initial scent might turn some folk away, an easy 8/10 from me.
