Royal Blood by Steep House

When it comes to flavours and juices I am a very picky person, I get through a fair amount trying to find that right one and if I do I’ll vape it regulary.. with the occasional dripping dabble in others so as to experiment before returning to the one that caught my eye.. or rather tongue.

I have had my eye on the Steep House range for some time now all the while watching my bank account slowly decreasing over the course of the month and at the same time looking at my stockpile of “premium” juices… should I? I can just starve for a day or two! surely it would be worth it… right?

When clicking onto the Steep House website we are presented with a user friendly and clean design that is easy to navigate. Steep House stocks 20 of their own range, starter kits, mods, RDA’s and some other ranges of juice.

Yes, I did say TWENTY different flavours and they range from Blackcurrant Chews with a hint of Marshmallow to Custard and American Red Tobacco. So you can see my predicament in choosing a juice that I thought I would like… when they all sound so delicious.

Today I opted for Royal Blood:

Flavour Profile: “The ultimate blue slush combo, raspberries, lychee, blackcurrant and fairground-style slush.”
VG/PG: Optional 80/20 or 70/30
Nicotine: 0, 1.5, 3 or 6
Size: 10, 30, 50 or 100ml
Price: £3, £7, £9 or £16 respectively

Testing Mods:
“Lurgan Spade” series box
Twisted Messes RDA w/ standard kanthal at 0.3
RDA wicked with Cotton Candy

Koopor Plus
Aspire Cleito using a 0.2 Coil

Upon receiving my speedy Royal Mail red card at 5pm on Thursday. I proceeded to fall to the floor in tears, cursing my postie for not just throwing it into the hallway. Today I queued in a mountainous line eagerly awaiting my package, swaying and tutting before tearing into my vape mail 100ml of sweet sweet nectar that I would soon devour.

Royal Blood upon shaking and opening released several aromas that seemed familiar to me, Dripped on the knuckle I found the Blackcurrant dominant but not sickly sweetened.

The Inhale – A subtle raspberry with a good throat hit but not overwhelming enough to make me cough or splutter.

The Exhale – The blackcurrant is noticeable but blended to make this as quoted “The Ultimate Blue Slush Combo”. I found myself smacking my lips together savoring a treat before turning up the settings on my Koopor wondering how it tasted under strain and I was not disappointed.

I opted for the 70/30 and while some juices at this mixing ratio, I often found the throat hit too much or the juice too sweet but alas with a subtle blend of high-quality ingredients I can have clouds for days.

Would I buy it again? Well, let’s just say that I have the Steep House Website bookmarked, added to my home screen awaiting payday, joined the Facebook group – and of course, given due warning to my postman.

Clouds… glorious glorious clouds outside the food bank.
Worth it!

Pink Lemonade by Big Bottle Co.

It’s time for another juice review here at the Belfast Vape Bar and these guys have held nothing back! U.S based blenders Big Bottle Co. were kind enough to send us a rather substantial package to review for you guys.

Big Bottle is exactly what you get! With all the new high wattage sub-ohm tanks and thirsty RDAs on the market now, the price of juice can start adding up quite quickly. The folks at Big Bottle Co. have taken a very modest approach with their business model “So what’s our secret to being so affordable? It’s easy – we make a little less money. We’re happy to run a sustainable business without gouging you, our customers.” All of the flavours are dispatched in 120ml glass bottles with an extra long dripper so you can get out every last drop!

First, we will be reviewing Pink Lemonade from Big Bottle Co’s new Lemonade Stand range which they describe as ” Pink Lemonade: a fruity, tart glass of Pink Lemonade mixed with berries and freshly squeezed lemon that will make you book your next beach getaway”

Pink Lemonade is a staple flavour within the world of vaping and has been used by many different juice companies. This is also a flavour we have dabbled in mixing ourselves which makes it rather easy for our reviewers to pick out the individual concentrates that make up this popular flavour.

For this review we are using the following hardware:

  • Pharaoh Dripper Tank by Digiflavor w/ dual clapton build @ 0.24Ω
  • Atomizer wicked with Cotton Bacon V2
  • Asmodus Minikin V2 Mod

The Inhale – The most noticeable flavour with Big Bottle Co.’s Pink Lemonade is the lemon with subtle hints of the raspberry lingering close behind.

The Exhale – This is where the true and bold flavours reveal themselves. Hints of what almost tastes like tangerine… The lemonade and strawberry taking centre stage to make an all-round enjoyable vape. The flavour intensity with Pink Lemonade isn’t the strongest but the flavours themselves are what you should expect from a pink lemonade flavoured juice.

Would we buy this product? For the price, this is worth the purchase. In this age of high wattage atomizers, juice is being vaped at a much quicker pace. The Big Bottle Co. cater for the all day avid vaper!

Dragon’s Breath by Crilly Wizard

Manufacturer’s Description: ”A third instalment from the Crilly Wizard’s den, Dragon’s Breath is a warm, dark, and spicy potion of exceptional depth and complexity. Benefitting from an extended period of maturation, this Oak cask steeped liquid is supplied fully rounded, highlighting the exotic blend of fine tobacco notes, underpinned with a rich coffee aroma. When independent of nicotine content, Dragon’s Breath exhibits a spiced peppery throat hit, which adds to the elegant bitter-sweet aroma to complete a potion fit for Uther Pendragon himself!”

Statistics: Dragon’s Breath: Seethe Reserve by Crilly Wizard, Available in 0mg, 5mg, 10mg and 15 mg strengths, Available in 30ml and 100mls bottles, 75% VG, 10% Distilled Water, 15% TFA and FA flavourings only in a PG base

Vaping statistics: 0mg strength, vaped on a Dotmod Petri RDA, dual 8 wrap 22AWG Kanthal coils totalling 0.25Ω l mounted on the Wismec RX2/3. Vaped 30 to 80 Watts.

Something different comes from the Druid behind the masterful creations that are Pipe Potion No. 1 and Pipe Potion No. 2. While boasting a blue wax seal and matching label,  I assure you that the presentation fits right in with the other liquids in from Crilly himself. The same attention to detail has been shown with this entry, hand stamped wax seal, leather thong tied around the neck of the bottle. Once again making it a feast for more than just your sense of taste.

The bottle note reveals a beautifully subtle mixture of flavours that constitute this offering from the Crilly Wizard. Light woodsy tobacco notes, the oakiness from the White Oak barrels the Crilly is famed for steeping his batches of nectar in with a light spiciness to top off the bottle note, similar to cardamom or  nutmeg. As with Crilly’s other liquids, the bottle note is an experience in its self and one I had to tear myself away from.

The initial puffs of this liquid present something I have found with no other liquid. Coffee notes that borders on perfection. A rich, deep, and  well-brewed espresso, cut just at the right time to bring out the light earthiness and bitterness characteristic of a well-brewed shot. This beautiful coffee note is accompanied with  delightfully spicy tobacco notes, reminiscent of Yenidji, Latakia and Perique while lacking the typical sour aroma from Oriental Tobaccos. A deep lungful of this delightful liquid gifts the vaper with a peppery exhale, an almost aniseed flavour as it passes through the sinuses and a room note that is an absolute pleasure to experience.

Spending an afternoon with this liquid is an absolute reward in itself.  A flavour that doesn’t fall flat, the delicate, warm and spicy notes of this liquid remind me of a good spiced rum. Warm, inviting, intoxicating and utterly indulgent. Curiosity lead me to sample both at once and once again, I find myself astonished at how complimentary a good liquid can be. A tot of fine rum and a measure of Dragon’s Breath is a combination that  simply has to be experienced.

This is a liquid that is an absolute delight, meeting and exceeding the expectations set by the previous two offerings from The Crilly Wizard. This is a liquid that I could easily return to, time and time again. Relishing in its complexities and revelling in the delicate combination of flavours. The Druid from County Tyrone in Nothern Ireland has once again outdone himself. I cannot even begin to hesitate in recommending this liquid. It’s an absolute joy to sample and if you’re seeking a liquid that offers you something complex and an opportunity to explore a masterfully crafted liquid, you’ll find it here.

Slushizz by Nom Nomz

The Drip Art Range is a new line from Northern Ireland-based blenders Nom Nomz Premium Vape Juice. We have reviewed a number of their products in the past and they scored rather highly with our review staff. (Click here to see our Nom Nomz line reviews)

This new line currently consists of two flavours, ‘Pavlovin’ and ‘Slushizz’ – the latter of which we are reviewing today.

The blenders describe ‘Slushizz’ as, “A sweet and sour blue raspberry slush, perfect for those hot days on the beach.”

Juice Details:

  • 60ml bottle
  • Available in 3mg nicotine strength
  • 70/30 VG High ratio
  • £18 a bottle (at time of review)

Slush-like flavours are a staple flavour in the vaping community and there are too many variations to name on the market. They provide a refreshing vape and contain almost sinus-opening qualities – not to mention being a rather convenient tool against the dreaded ‘vaper’s tongue’.

Hardware used for this review:

  • Efusion DNA 200 Mod
  • Mason Advocate 27mm RDA w/0.21Ω dual build
  • RDA wicked with Cotton Bacon

Before we start the taste test, let’s take a little sniff from the bottle and see if anything is given away. Straight away, the sourness mentioned in the blender’s description is the most noticeable aroma with raspberry notes following close behind.

The Inhale – We were greeted with a rather cool, refreshing blast of raspberry with ‘Slushizz’. The flavour here reminds me of sour sweets that I used to love as a kid.

The Exhale – The same tasty raspberry has emerged from the exhale, but of course, much more intense! I can almost feel my airways just opening right up. If you ever find yourself suffering from the dreaded ‘Vaper’s Tongue’, it would well be worth picking up a bottle! Raspberry sour sweets would be one way to describe this product.

Would I buy this product?

As a long time fan of the slush-flavoured vapes, it’s definitely a yes from us here at the Belfast Vape Bar. Bonus points must be given as it also fits the profile for an all day vape. This juice, as well as the new ‘Pavlovin’, are both available from Titanic Vapour (click image below) and from the Nom Nomz website.

“Milk” by Glas Vapor

Time for another juice review from the Glas E-Liquid line. Previously we have reviewed “Glazed” which went down very well! Let’s see if the other products follow suit.

“Milk” from Glas E-Liquid is described as “A smooth and complex blend of strawberries and sweet cream” The Glas liquids come in a 65/35 VG high ratio in 0, 3, 6 and 12mg nicotine strengths.

For this review we are using the following hardware:

  • Mini Volt Kit by Council of Vapor
  • Standard Ramp Mode
  • 0.8Ω coil

This flavour along with the rest of the Glas E-Liquid line come in a sleek frosted bottle with an imitation wax seal which keeps the lid intact. The line seems to be marketed towards the more discerning vaper with it’s rather suave presentation which I personally find appealing, if I was to see this product on the shelf in a b+m store, it would definitely catch my eye!

Starting off as we always do with an initial sniff from this little-frosted bottle, we were greeted with a rather delicious creamy strawberry aroma, similar to a certain milkshake you’d find in your supermarket…

The Inhale – Just for a change, we used a tank based atomizer for this review as it’s more convenient for that on the go vape. The inhale delivered with the above mentioned creamy strawberry and is rather satisfying. Not overpowering and not too much of a throat hit considering the VG/PG ratio.

The Exhale – Now, this is where the rich creamy notes really reveal themselves! Not a single hint of a chemical or artificial taste with the exhale. The folks at Glas Vapor have clearly spent quite some time developing this flavour. Very similar to that certain milkshake and a great All Day Vape in a tank based atty.

Would I buy this product? The 30ml bottle can be purchased from UK ECig Store for £16.99 which is a little on the higher end price wise but it’s definitely worth trying.

“Funta” by Vaper Boy

Hey guys and welcome to another review from myself shakey.. today we are doing a juice review on a liquid made by Vaper Boy and it’s called….Funta Orange. Yes… Funta Orange. Let’s get straight into a close up and then get a good vape on.
Having a quick juke over the bottle it genuinely looks like a bottle of a certain fizzy drink we all know. They say that It’s the satisfaction and wanting more feeling you get from sipping the last bit of your favorite ice cold Orange flavored drink. Over and over again. They state that it has:

– Excellent Taste and Smell
– Ice Cold Orange flavour
– Made in Malaysia E-Liquid
– PG50 / 50VG Blend

This juice was provided for the purpose of review by the folks at Air Distribution, vendors interested in stocking the products available can reach them via the link in the image below.

Air Distrubtion

Normally I’m not one for a 50/50 liquid but let’s have a vape of this stuff and get a final verdict. So literally seconds after popping the cap on this bottle the orange has filled my office…. jeepers it’s crazy. I also get the smell of menthol which I assume is the ice flavour to this. Today I’m dripping this onto my mason 30mm on the Asmodus iMnikin 120watt mod at 80 watts. Put a nice .2 ohm parallel build for all its surface area. Dripping this stuff it turns your cotton bright orange straight away. Looks

Dripping this stuff it turns your cotton bright orange straight away. Looks good to be honest and the smell just keeps getting stronger and stronger. First hit and wow. Straight out of the gate the flavour is right up there!! All guns blazing menthol and orange. Simple yet absolutely amazing. If I’m honest its simply awesome. I’m very impressed indeed. The more you vape it doesn’t get any duller. Although I can imagine no matter what i drip onto this cotton now it’s all I’m going to be able to taste.

All in all, I’m very impressed with this liquid. For being a 50/50 you can’t expect insane clouds or anything but the productions grand. The flavour hits the nail on the head though I’m gunna have to rate it very highly it put a smile on my face when i tried it for the first time.

“Strawberry Milkshake” by Witchcraft

Time for another juice review here at the Belfast Vape Bar and it’s another line that is blended right here on our own Island (Technically the Republic of Ireland but same landmass lol)

Witchcraft was founded in January of 2015 and have exploded into the vaping scene more so in the early part of 2016 with a massive line of flavours, thirty different flavours with five of these included in their high VG line. Today we will be reviewing “Strawberry Milkshake” from the high VG line Cloud Chasers Line.

The blenders describe this product as “Milkshake fans, this one is for you! Early reviews from customers hinted at a likeness to Yazoo or a McDonalds strawberry milkshake which we were delighted with. Comprised of strawberry & cream flavourings this creamy strawberry milkshake e-liquid flavour is our current best seller. Our lab spent a long time trying to get a strawberry e-juice that doesn’t taste artificial and they certainly cracked it”

We were actually able to meet the gents from Witchcraft a few months back whilst they were touring the various vape stores in Northern Ireland and were able to try out their rather extensive line of flavours, they then got in touch and sent out the Cloud Chasers line for us to review.

As we mentioned before, this product is from the Witchcraft Cloud Chasers line with a 80/20 VG-PG ratio making this an ideal juice for an RDA or one of the newer RTA/RDTA systems on the market and there will be clouds!

For this review, we are using the following hardware:

  • Wismec RX200 Mod
  • Mason RDA from Vapergate w/0.2Ω dual coil build
  • RDA wicked with Kendo Vape Cotton

Taking a little sniff from the bottle before juicing up the cotton. There is almost a malt-type aroma with “Strawberry Milkshake” with of course subtle notes of the strawberry itself. Other people who have tried this juice have compared it to a certain fast food franchises milkshake…

The Inhale – The almost malt-like taste appears again with the inhale with a subtle creaminess. The throat hit for a 3mg juice is a little stronger than usual but don’t let this put you off.

The Exhale – Not much changes with the exhale compared to the inhale, to be brutally honest, I’m a little disappointed with the exhale as for me it’s somewhat lacking in the overall “strawberryness” that was promised by the description and previous reviews… But, with e-liquids it’s a very much a subjective matter. For me, if this was labelled a strawberry malt shake, I would have been much happier, but to compare this to that certain fast food shake isn’t exactly true.

Would I buy this product? This is rather tricky, the description was a tad misleading but it is still a rather tasty juice. Will have to vape the small amount left and come to a more determined conclusion…

“Vintage Cola” by Zap Juice

It’s time for another juice review here at the Belfast Vape Bar! Today we have a flavour which I haven’t yet tried in an e-liquid before, “Vintage Cola” from Manchester based blenders Zap Juice.

The presentation for their products is very slick, with the bundle of juices available on their website for £34.99 you receive all four of their flavours in 20ml bottles, branded rubber drip tip, stickers which represent each of their flavours and a card with the flavour profiles. The Zap Juice range comes in 3mg and 70/30 VG high, making this ideal for dripping and tank based atomizers.

“We believe that dedication and passion for a craft that you love is one of the cornerstones of a happy and fulfilling life – an ideology that we have poured into every drop of our premium e-liquid range. We are stocked in numerous shops across the UK (And hopefully the world soon!), which we feel is a testament to the great flavours, rich taste and great vape that our liquids bring to our customers.

Besides the endless hours of joy we put into creating it, ZAP! is crafted from the highest grade pharmaceutical PG, VG, nicotine and flavours available – our master mixologists working out of an above-industry standard clean room in the heart of Manchester”

First from the line for review is the “Vintage Cola” as mentioned above, this is the first juice with this flavour profile that I’ve tried. Zap Juice describe this product as “Like a barbershop quartet, four flavours combine in marvellous harmony, for a classic experience you won’t forget” This sounds rather intriguing…

For this review I will be using the following hardware:

  • 24mm Mason RDA from Vapergate w/0.2Ω dual build
  • Twisted Messes Mod by Dovpo
  • RDA wicked with Kendo Vape Cotton

Taking a little sniff from the bottle before we get started with the taste test, an almost nostalgic feeling rolls over from back in the day, calling into the local corner shop and getting for some of those delicious cola bottle sweets, not the little wimpy ones either, we’re talking about that big guys that you could easily spend twenty minutes eating!

The Inhale – There is almost a slight fizziness to Vintage Cola with the aforementioned nostalgic cola flavouring.

The Exhale – This is where the juice started to change for me personally. With the original sniff from the bottle and inhale, I was very much reminded of the cola bottle sweets but with the exhale, there is definitely more of a cola beverage taste present. Very akin to one of my favourite cola beverages of the Curiosity persuasion…

Would I buy this product? I most certainly would! The nostalgic feeling from the inhale and the surprisingly intense flavoured exhale Vintage Cola is a juice worth picking up!

“Milk of the Gods” by Vapors Anonymous

Manufacturer’s Description:  ”This juice tastes like the famous Mexican drink, horchata with a hint of caramel and our secret nectar sauce

Statistics: Vapors Anonymous – Milk of the Gods by Vape Craft., Available in 0, 3, 6, 12 and 18mg strengths, Available in 15, 30 and 150ml bottles, 30%PG/70%VG.

Vaping statistics: 0mg strength, vaped on a Suprimo x Sigelei Moonshot RDTA mounted on a Kangertech Kbox Mini 2, built with dual coils measuring 0.3 Ω at wattages between 15 and 35 watts. Also tested on the Tuglyfe regulated dual 18650 box mod by Flawless with the Velocity RDA equipped with dual coils measuring at 0.25Ω.

In this review, I’m going to be sampling “Milk of the Gods”, sent to us by the blenders at Craft Vape.

Now, for those who aren’t familiar with what “Horchata “ is, the cooking website describes it as:

“As a refreshing, creamy-ish, cinnamon-y drink that is served chilled, pleasantly sweet and great for something to sip on in the summer heat. Think along the lines of a rice or almond milk with cinnamon (but better)

The initial bottle note doesn’t reveal much about the flavour, a slight synthetic, creaminess initially, although if you sit with it you can definitely identify a smooth nutty scent just topping the bottle note off, while not unappealing, it doesn’t do much to attract your attention.

So, unsatisfied with the bottle note, I popped some fresh cotton into the RDA and gave it a blast, this is where the liquid started to truly shine. I was first greeted a delightfully creamy flavour. The milky, creamy taste gently tinged with a slight sugary sweetness, a smooth caramel laced through it. On the end of each retro hale there was a beautiful sweet, almost spicy flavour of cinnamon added through it. Just a little treat added at the end of each moment of indulgence with this liquid. The “Secret Nectar Sauce” that the blender mentioned is hard to identify from the main body of the flavour. I’m not even sure if I can distinguish it from the flavour.

After sitting and enjoying this liquid for a while, it doesn’t fall into the trap I find most dairy liquids do. It doesn’t become sickly or overpowering and remains a fully enjoyable liquid to have in your RDA or tank.

The clouds it produces on higher wattages are absolutely divine. Thick, fragrant clouds that carry the flavour of the liquid in the air hang around beautifully. Absolutely no complaints in this area and overall this liquid fails to disappoint, remaining fully enjoyable through the entire experience and if I had accidentally spilled this liquid (which, I am very prone to doing) I would definitely go around purchasing another bottle.

“Red DNA” by UK Labs

The folks at Bowman Specialised Liquids were kind enough to supply us with a few of their best-selling products for review. Today we will be taking a look at their “Red DNA” from the UK Labs range. The blenders describe “Red DNA” as:

“A unique strain of tangy sweet citrus fruits infused with a sweet lemon sorbet”

50ml (1.7 fl oz)

MPG/VG Ratio 20%/80%

So, it looks like we have another Pink Lemonade-like flavour today! Readers of our reviews will know that I’m an avid fan of this particular flavour so as always, the bar will be set quite high.

For this review we will be using the following hardware:

The initial sniff from the bottle is very pleasant. Having made some of my own Pink Lemonade in the past, picking up the individual flavours for similar flavours has become much easier. The citrus notes are dominant here with hints of the sweetener.

The Inhale – The throat hit with “Red DNA” isn’t as harsh as some of the similar flavours we have tried on the market. The lemon is definitely the dominant flavour here.

The Exhale – Pink Lemonade as a e-liquid can be a rather complex blend of flavours which few have mastered, Red DNA includes the citrus notes with tangerine and the lemony sorbet instead of your standard lemon flavour which makes quite the difference with the overall taste, adding more of a bite. The amount of sweetener isn’t overbearing which in my opinion is where a lot of blenders go wrong with this particular recipe Pink Lemonade is supposed to be a refreshing flavour with the crisp bite of citrus.

Red DNA in this enthusiasts opinion is one of the better blends on the market today. Taking a somewhat different approach to the blend with the sorbet really improves on the classic vaping flavour that is Pink Lemonade. Would I buy this product? For the respectable price of £14.99 for a 50ml bottle, I’m going to say yes! Available now on the Bowman Specialised Liquids website.
